Vesuvius is our answer to situations where you need a much more powerful explosive delivery, to get to those tough places. As Vesuvius is based on our smaller Krakatoa charge, it has been designed to be a user-filled modular charge that is supplied in kit form. All that the operator needs to add is plastic explosive, a detonator and a bit of imagination.
The main body of Vesuvius is approximately 160mm long and 160mm in diameter. Due to the mass of plastic explosive that is required - approximately 4kg - it is recommended that Vesuvius be mounted on a sturdy mini-tripod for greater
accuracy when aiming at targets Vesuvius may be used for explosive engineering, demolition and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), in particular against buried munitions. To allow for versatility in operations, two projectiles are
available to choose from; these are a Jet Forming Cone (JFC) and an Explosively Formed Projectile (EFP). We have taken into account the broad range of users this tool  will be used by. Therefore we have designed Vesuvius so that it can be used for underwater operations. All that is required is the additional Underwater Stand-off Capsule. Anticipated
working depths of approximately 50m (165’) should be achievable.
