MLVD (Modular Large Vehicle Disrupter)

MLVD

THE MLVD (Modular Large Vehicle Disruptor) Mk2 is a modular water disruptor for use against Vehicle Borne IEDs (VBIED). The Mk2 has the same explosive and hydraulic geometry as the original MLVD but is now supplied as three separate modules which may be used together (to have the same performance as the original MLVD) or in different configurations, depending on the target. The MLVD uses patented technology to produce a shaped charge using sheet explosive or detonating cord as the propellant and water or salt and water as the projectile. Each module consists of two containers; a tamper and a projectile, which are fitted together, sandwiching the explosive charge. Endcaps hold the elements together and allow separate modules to be joined side-by-side or end-to-end according to the size and
shape of the intended target area.
